I use my VW van as my daily driving vehicle, which I love to get behind the wheel of. But, in between long distance trips I often forget that I’m driving my dream car.
Earlier this week I was out shooting an image for a company who had sent me some pocket knifes to test. There were two locations on my mind to photograph at. One was next to a nice section of river near my home, and another was slightly further away in France where a couple of old stone picnic tables are found.
A camp light of mine split warm light across the rough surface of the table, which created an interesting looking texture. And once the sun had dipped out of view behind the mountains, a rush of cold air swept across the valley. A nice few hours spent on my own little adventure.
I was driving back across the countryside of La Cerdanya and found myself on a lonely mountain road, struck by the view in front. The mountain layers were a mix of blacks and dark blue hues. The sky wasn’t much brighter. Cruising along at 60mph with nothing but the hum of the engine in my ears. I leaned back in the captain’s chair and soaked in the moment.
What fleeting instances give you a little satisfaction while our in your camper? Drop me a note in the comments as I would love to know.
